Apps 10 extended support is a planning calendar, not a comfort blanket

IFS Expert Inc. (principal) 7 min read Apps 10

As of 29 August 2026 the remaining extended-support window is about 19 months to 27 March 2028, and possibly about 7 months to 27 March 2027 if IFS Cloud has been purchased without a demonstrated plan. Those dates come from IFS, not from partner blogs.

The dates (IFS, not hearsay)

The squeeze

IFS Extended Support Terms (November 2025) add a migration carve-out. If the customer has purchased IFS Cloud and is actively upgrading, Apps 10 extended support can run a maximum of two years from 28 March 2025 (that is, to 27 March 2027) or go-live, whichever is earlier. If they can show an active upgrade plan, it can extend to the 27 March 2028 end of extended support. The same document covers FSM 6 and Alliance 15.4.

If you have bought Cloud and do not have a plan a procurement team would recognise, treat 27 March 2027 as the working date. If you have not bought Cloud, 27 March 2028 is still not far.

This is not a version bump

Partner writing is consistent even where IFS does not publish a methodology: audit customizations and be willing to write them off; do not force Cloud to behave like Apps 10; rewrite integrations toward OData / REST / projections; move Crystal to Report Designer / RDL; budget testing and hypercare, which is where these programs actually fail. Direct technical upgrade from Apps 10 is widely described as supported. Module-by-module exceptions are not certified here. We will tell you what we see in your estate, not a generic path.

What a 90-day readiness engagement actually inspects

Customization inventory and write-offs. Crystal estate. Integration list. "Standard Cloud already covers this" list. 90-day hypercare outline. That work sits inside the Executive Assessment, then a scoped upgrade-readiness follow-on. It is not a greenfield SI bid.

What we will not quote as fact

Partner-reported duration ranges (6-9 months, 12-15 months) are their figures, not an IFS SLA and not ours. Useful as planning colour. Not a promise.
